Nightly builds
Posted on September 10th, 2003 by

We have set up a nightly build system . Currently, it builds a Debian package, source tarball, and a Windows installer version. Interesting to note is that the Windows version is completely built on a GNU/Linux system, using a cross-compiler and Wine to create the final setup.exe .

Patents endangering OSS development
Posted on September 4th, 2003 by

Soon the European Commission is going to vote a revised version of the European Patentability rules. The proposed revision contains a set of serious challenges to Open Source development since regulation regarding software patents will be broadly extended and might forbid independent development of innovative (Open Source and not) software-based solutions. For further information please see http://swpat.ffii.org and http://petition.eurolinux.org . Please show your support there.

Posted on August 26th, 2003 by

GTK-Wimp 0.3.0 released. Now tooltips and progress bars nicely adhere to the system colors as well. There was a mixup in drawing the proper checkbox state, fixed. Disabled the colored, alternating rules for GtkTreeViews to match the Windows behaviour. The open/close tree expander symbols were accidentally switched, fixed. The menu background color now follows XP's color scheme.

GTK-Wimp 0.2.0 released
Posted on August 7th, 2003 by

GTK-Wimp 0.2.0 released. Added XP theming support for progress bars, list headers, entry widgets, radio buttons, option menus and tree expanders. Tabs not located on top of the notebook were not rendered properly using XP theming. Added fallback to non-XP theming behaviour if the tabs are not located on top. This will have to do for now, expect better notebook support in the next release.

GTK-Wimp neglected
Posted on August 6th, 2003 by

Due to other priorities the work on GTK-Wimp got neglected. It has been far too long since the last release. Fortunately, I picked up where I left on March. I am now in the process of putting together a new release. Please hold your breath a bit longer, but I promise that it really won't be that long...

Miss Workrave progress

More progress on Miss Workrave. I have added armatures (bones), so I can now position her in any anatomically incorrect position :) Also new is an office chair, which still needs some nice colors though...:

The logo that never was...
Posted on July 15th, 2003 by

Here you can see the logo that never was. I made an attempt at a logo for the upcoming OOTI symposium, but it was not elected. The logo had to express the future of massive parallel computing...
