Miss Workrave face
Posted on July 8th, 2003 by

I spent the last few nights moving the site over to my new provider. The site is finally 100% up and running again. So now I can continue to work on Miss Workrave. I am currently focusing on her face, here's a first snapshot:

Hosting Gripes

The web site has been out of the air for a few days, visitors were presented the following:

Site down

I am really fed up with my hosting company, HostRocket. They claim the site was getting 30 visitors per second, and they told me to move to a (semi)dedicated server. They would not provide me with any information on where the hits were coming from. Normally, the site receives +/- 500 visits a day. As I don't earn any money...

It has been a bit too quiet on the Workrave front lately, so I thought it would be nice to inform you about what's cooking. Initially, we were planning on releasing version 1.4.0, with exercises being the most interesting new feature addition. However, a lot of time went into 3D modeling of 'Miss Workrave', who is supposed to instruct you on how to do your exercises. In fact, a lot of time is still...

The Window version now has a native look and feel, so Workrave no longer looks like a second grade application when running on Windows. Finally, the overall user interface has improved, addressing most HIG issues.

The most important new features in this version are statistics and Gnome/KDE applet support. Workrave now keeps track of all your activity and allows you to browse through any date in history to see for how long you used the computer, how many keys you pressed, the distance your mouse moved, and many other statistical data. Furthermore, when running Workrave on Gnome or KDE, the break information can be displayed itself in the panel.
